What is a Statistical Business Register?


A Statistical Business Register (SBR) is a structured register of economic units that are engaged in various economic activities and resident in the national economic territory. The SBR is established and maintained for statistical purposes.


In compliance with the Republic Act No. 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), this privacy policy is created to make you aware of how we handle the information you provide.


What data do we collect from you?


The PSA collects and processes information, including but not limited to the following:


    General Information

        1. Display/Shop Name
        2. Business Name
        3. Registered Name
        4. Business Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
        5. Legal Organization
        6. Year Started in Operation
        7. Total Employment
        8. Product(s)/Good(s) Sold

    Online Presence

        9. E-commerce Platform(s) Used
        10. Online Platform URLs Presence of Physical Store
        11. Presence of Offline or Physical Store
        12. Physical Store Address
            - Number/Street Name
            - Building Name/Floor/Room No.
            - Subdivision/Purok/Sitio/Economic Area Name
            - Province/HUC
            - City/Municipality
            - Barangay

    Social Media Information

How Do We Collect Data From You?


For this specific data collection, we will be using the Online Questionnaire to gather the necessary information.


Why Do We Collect Your Data?


We collect your information to update the Statistical Business Register (SBR). The SBR provides important statistics on the number of businesses, total employment, and the distribution of businesses by key characteristics. This information helps the government and private sector make informed decisions that support economic planning, benefiting communities and enhancing services for every Filipino.


Who do we share your data with?


The data collected are shared with the authorized personnel of PSA only and are being handled in compliance with the implementing rules and regulations of the DPA. In the event that government agencies or private entities request for data from the SBR, the provisions of the DPA and Republic Act No. 10625 or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013 shall be observed.


How is your data protected and retained?


Only authorized personnel may access the collected information. Organizational, physical, and technical security measures are also in place to ensure that the information is properly safeguarded.

All collected data are retained and updated every year.


Your Data Privacy Rights


Pursuant to the DPA, a data subject has the following rights: the right to be informed; the right to access, the right to object, the right to rectify, the right to file a complaint, the right to damages, the right to data portability, and the right to erasure and blocking.
